Dear Smith Family,
I hadn’t seen Drew since he was probably 15 years old in the Highland Youth Program. He always cracked me up and made things fun. The 1999 Ogdensburg NY Workcamp was where I really got to know him.
I’m glad I could attend his beautiful service. It helped me to get to know the “adult” Drew I missed out on. I love that he still draws his cartoons and listens to DMB.
The whole family was amazing during the service. I really appreciated and admired Jillian’s eulogy.
The Marine salute was inspiring and well deserved. You all will be in my prayers for a long time.
With Sympathy,
Pete Rothacker

Drew and I were in marching band together. His energy was infectious and his laugh could not be missed. Haven’t really spoken in years, but we reunited on FB, where we shared an electronic bond of sorts through a mutual love for golf and liberal politics. I will miss seeing him there, and am saddened that we will not have the chance to cross paths again in person. Please accept my deepest condolence. -David Cohen

Drew was a light in any room. Always in a good mood, always laughing and always honest about everything. He loved his wife and he loved being a dad. He was passionate about life and jammed out even without the music on. Even though the world has become a little bit more sad, the skies have become a little bit brighter.
I think it’s ok to say that everyone will miss everything about you.

I wanted to express my sympathy to your family. Although we do not know each other, I remember losing my best friend some years ago and receiving condolences from ones I didn’t know. Their words of encouragement strengthened me – I hope this does the same for you.
Also, may you feel the support and love from the God of all Comfort during this especially difficult time. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)
