Douglas Pfautz, 66
On New Year’s Day, Doug, 66, ran his final marathon on the path straight to heaven. His wife of 39 years, Donna and their two children, Kelsey and Ethan, were by his side cheering him on to the finish line.
Born in Lancaster, son of the late William T. Sr. and Lucy (Sebastian) Pfautz, Doug graduated from Manheim Township High School in 1976. After graduation he went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State in Mechanical Engineering Technology. He was employed by TE Connectivity for 30 years as a Senior Mechanical Engineer before his diagnosis of Early Onset Alzheimer’s in 2020.
Doug was an avid runner and completed 2 full marathons, countless 5k’s, and a sprint triathlon. He loved biking, hiking, trips to the cabin, beach vacations, morning walks with his dogs, and any time spent with his family. He enjoyed woodworking and built several pieces of furniture.
In addition to his wife Donna (Schoenberger), he will be deeply missed by his children, Kelsey (Cole) Miller of Columbia, SC and Ethan (Tiffany) Pfautz of East Petersburg, PA. His love lives on in his 5 beautiful granddaughters, Morgan Jane, Ellie Mae, Laura James Miller; Lucy and Katherine Pfautz. He is also survived by a brother, William T. (Bobbie) Pfautz Jr. of East Petersburg, PA and a sister, Mary Lou (Mike) Ault of Lancaster, PA.
A celebration of life will take place on Monday January 6, 2025, at 4pm at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA, 17543. In leu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bluefield Project- Curing FTD www.bluefieldproject.org/donate/

Donna, I am so sorry for your loss. Doug and I worked closely together for many years at AMP/TE. He always demonstrated creative thinking in solving problems and was well regarded by all who worked with him. So sorry for your loss. Doug was a great mentor and friend over the 25 plus years that I knew him. He was one of the “go to” guys that could provide creative ideas when you were stuck in the middle of a design. I enjoyed talking to him about woodworking, camping, and any other topics. He was instrumental in helping my son choose a career in Air Traffic Control through a family member connection. His presence was greatly missed by many of us when he left AMP/TE.

Doug was the kind of person that you always knew who would be greeting you, calm, kindness flowing out of him, smiling, strong hugs and handshakes! He genuinely listened to you after he asked you how you were! Whenever the friends would come up with something, Doug was always amenable to the plan!!! He was someone you wanted to be around!!! There will be a big hole in our lives without Doug!!! We’ll miss you!!!

Quiet, reserved, – even on those few weekends I did my best to corrupt him he remained a true gentlemen. The world lost a “good guy” but he leaves behind a wonderful wife, son, daughter, and grandchildren to carry on his legacy of class and wisdom.
