Dorothy Marie Weaver, 91
September 21, 2025
Dorothy Marie Weaver, age 91, Millersville, passed away on September 21, 2025. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy Coldren and the devoted wife of the late Jere P. Weaver who preceded her in death after 60 years of marriage.
Dorothy spent many years of her life as a food service worker with RCA Corporation and then at Armstrong World Industries. Outside of work, Dorothy had a passion for traveling. Alongside her husband Jere and a few of her siblings. She embarked on two memorable cross-country road trips, exploring the northern and southern states of the United States. Their travels also took them to Hawaii on several occasions and to vibrant hotspots like Las Vegas and Atlantic City, where she enjoyed playing her favorite poker machines.
In her earlier years, weekly Sunday family gatherings were a part of Dorothy’s life. She was an excellent cook but loved the cookouts at home, where her husband Jere took over and did most of the cooking.
Dorothy always cherished holiday gatherings and looked forward to seeing all her grandchildren. They always lite up her face with a big smile.
Dorothy also looked forward to her weekly outings with friends for breakfast and dinner at her favorite local diners.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Linda M. Gantz (wife of Clayton H. Gantz, Jr.), of Arkansas, David A. Weaver of Arkansas, Sandra D. Robertson (wife of James Robertson) of Millersville, Ronald S. Weaver (husband of Holly Shaw Weaver) of Savannah, GA, Steven D. Weaver of Lititz, and Michael P. Weaver of Lancaster; 11 grandchildren; 13+ great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild as well as two brother in-laws: Lee Schweich of East Petersburg and Bill Kirchner of Pequea.
