Dorothy M. Musser, 93

Dorothy (Mellinger) Musser, 93, formerly of Wheatland School Road, Lancaster, PA, died at Landis Homes on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. She was the wife of J. Robert Musser for 65 years, who preceded her in death in 2016.

She was an active member of Strasburg Mennonite Church where she taught children’s Sunday School, participated in sewing circle, and sang with a ladies sextet. She and her husband were also involved with Gideons International and Black Rock Retreat.

Music was important to her, and she and Bob encouraged music lessons for their children at an early age. They enjoyed playing instruments and singing together. Dorothy also loved gardening and flowers and actually even enjoyed weeding! Another hobby was sewing, including her own wedding dress.

Born in Strasburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jason and Irene (Hess) Mellinger. She is survived by four children, Patsy Sherer (Michael) of Goshen, IN; Audrey Tice (Steven) of East Rockaway, NY; Fred Musser (Rima Sarkar) of Starkville, MS; and Donna Emma (Stephen) of Limington, ME; 12 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, November 27 at 10:30 AM at Strasburg Mennonite Church, 1514 Village Road, Strasburg, PA followed by visitation with the family. Interment in the adjoining cemetery will precede the service at 9:30 AM.
