Dorothy M. Jakows, 84

Dorothy M. Jakows, 84, of Ephrata, formerly of Lititz and Philadelphia, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at home. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John and Carolina (Wojnarowski) Lyszkzasz.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph L. Jakows, who passed away in 2003.
Dorothy was a longtime member of St. James Catholic Church, where she was involved in the Light of Christ prayer group and the Legion of Mary.
Dorothy enjoyed music and seeing live shows, most of all polka music. Dorothy liked sewing, cooking and going on Catholic retreats. She especially enjoyed the Jersey Shore, looking out to the ocean during the tranquil time of twilight.
Survived by a daughter, Sandra Partyka, of Ephrata, and a son, Mark Jakows, husband of Nancy, of North Wales. She was the last surviving of nine children.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Mother of Divine Providence 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 at 10:15AM. Visitation (9-10AM). Interment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA. I had the opportunity to get to know dorothy from doing her hair for the last few years. She was a pleasure to know and really enjoyed her stories she told about her husband and dancing. My condolences go out to her family.
