Dorothy Ann Dubowchik, 92

Dorothy Ann Dubowchik, 92, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019, at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. She was born in Passaic, NJ, to the late John and Julia (Drochak) Gaydosh. Dorothy’s husband Michael A. Dubowchik died in 2004.
A graduate of Clifton High School, Clifton, NJ, Class of 1945, she worked as a bookkeeper for a group of doctors while living in Little Falls, NJ. Since moving to Lancaster in 1977, Dorothy had been a homemaker.
Dorothy loved animals, especially birds and dogs. Since childhood, she always had dogs and was taking care of her papillon, Daisy, until November of this year. She donated to several animal charities. Dorothy loved jewelry and enjoyed making her own. She also greatly enjoyed travelling, particularly by ship to Bermuda, the Baltic, Greenland and Norway. During one memorable trip in 1979, she travelled by ship to Leningrad, and then by train from Leningrad to Warsaw during communist rule.
Dorothy is survived by her son Gene M. Dubowchik, husband of Rosemary (Thoonen), and their daughter Anna Dubowchik of Middlefield, CT.
Private services and interment will take place in East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton, NJ.
