Dorothy A. Young, 73

Dorothy A. Young, 73, of Providence Twp., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at UPMC Pinnacle Lancaster. Born in Lancaster, PA, she was a daughter of the late Edgar T. and Frances C. (Schnader) Chant, and the beloved wife of Richard E. Young, Jr., with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.
Dorothy was a 1962 graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School. She worked in the production department of Kunzler & Company, Lancaster, from where she retired after 28 years of service. Dorothy enjoyed traveling, camping, going to the beach and casinos, and playing bingo. A devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, she cherished time spent with her family. She was also very attached to her cocker spaniel, Zoe.
In addition to her beloved husband, Rich, she is survived by two daughters, Robin Roth and her husband Tim of Lancaster, and Wendy Roeser and her husband Stan of New Providence. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Richard Rankin, Roger Hartstein, Jr. and Brittany Broomell; four great-grandchildren, Cole, Brooke, Brendan, and Lesle; and a brother, William Chant. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Edgar T. E. Chant.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be offered to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA, 17603.

We are so very sorry for your loss. Dottie was a beautiful person inside and out. I have alot of fond memories of her. Hopefully all of your fond memories will help you all through this difficult time. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Rich, Robin Wendy and family,
I am so very very sorry about Dottie’s passing. It was a big shock as it was for all of you. I will remember Dottie always as she was a great co-worker for 28 years and friend. There was never a dull moment when she was around. I know the love she had for her family. She had a big heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you continue life without her. God is with you all and will give you the comfort, peace, strength and understanding as you go on. I love you all. God bless you all.
