Doris M. Landis, 78
Doris M. Landis, 78, of Lancaster, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Conestoga View. Born in Leola, PA, she was the daughter to the late Edward and Edna (Deets) Andrew. She was married to the love of her life the late Mervin Landis.
Doris took great pride in caring for her family and her home. She enjoyed camping with family and friends, playing card games, traveling, quilting and sewing. She was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, Eden and more recently, Zion’s United Church of Christ, Marietta. Doris worked in the food service department for 12 years at the Lancaster Country Day School.
Surviving are 4 children: James Landis, husband of Shirley, of Lancaster, Debra Landis of Akron, Jerry Landis, husband of Tina, of St. Cloud, FL, and Dorene Henderson, wife of Kevin, of Lancaster; and 6 grandchildren: Michael Landis, Katie Alston, Alan Landis, Kristine Groshong, Paige Landis and Jena Henderson. Doris was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Raymond, Robert, Lester and Edward Andrew; and a sister: Nancy Myer and a granddaughter: Meredith.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 with Rev. Jody Sambrick officiating.
