Doris and I were at MU together. She and Spike were in love and she left school before we all graduated, then went back and finished later when encouraged to do that by her dad. In more recent years (even before she moved to MM), Doris and I enjoyed lunch together during the summer, sometimes at The Jigger Shop in Mt. Gretna if the weather wasn’t too hot. Last summer we didn’t get together for lunch because of her surgery. Bill and I last visited her at Moravian Manor when we went to see the Minstrel Show in December. I’m sorry we didn’t get out for lunch this summer. I always enjoyed Doris’ gentle spirit and sweet voice. She dearly loved her family and I’m sure all of you knew that. You have our sincere sympathy. Dimples (Doris) and her siblings, Marian, Patsy, Buddy, and Charley are my cousins. They were always kind and supporting to me; they were the best. And Dimples was the best of all. We will miss you, beautiful.
