Doris J. Lampo, who has resided at Brethren Village for 10 years, died peacefully on February 24, 2017, of natural causes. She was 95 years old. She loved animals, especially cats, and also enjoyed playing cards, including bridge and rummy. She loved plants and flowers and was a past member of the Garden Club of Lancaster. She was also a long-time member of the Community Concert Association. Her favorite love, however, was traveling, and over the years, she has enjoyed several trips to Europe, including visiting her oldest son John P. (Jack) Lampo in Germany. Doris retired from the former Ear, Nose, and Throat Associates in 1980, and had previously worked at Educators Mutual Life Insurance Company of Lancaster for many years.

Dear Doug and Dave: I had the pleasure to know Doris for many years. We became friends in the 1980s while I was in my 20s working in sales at Keller Brothers Ford in Lititiz PA were she had purchased a new car. Not the usual way to start a long term friendship. Despite our large age difference we became friends and kept in touch over many years even after I relocated away from Lancaster County.
Doris had lots of special qualities that made her a great friend. She was always interesting in conversation, young at heart, and seemingly always emanating a positive outlook on life despite her losses. I will miss her greatly. She was a special friend.

Dear Dave and Doug and family, we were saddened to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. We have fond memories of your mom and dad growing up and are visits to Pennsylvania. Your Mom and Dad were always so welcoming and my parents Frank an Josephine Loved them dearly as well as you both and your brother Jack. I remember your visits to our house on the estate in Greenwich . We always looked bforward to your visits and going to the beach! As a young girl I loved watching your mother get ready and prepping to go out somewhere! She always looks so pretty and always had her hair done! With love always, Carol and Peter Mandras.

Dear David and Douglas,
We are so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. It has been many years since we have seen you all, but we do remember your sweet mom and you both, of course. She had a very full life and we recall her and your dad’s humor very well, such kind and loving dear ones and all of your visits to Greenwich visiting your aunt and uncle (Angelina and Patsy) and our mom and dad (Pat and Evie). Our prayers are with you during this time of grieving. Keep the fond memories always in your hearts.
Love,
Donna, Joan, and Pat and families
