Donna M. Fischer, 73
April 29, 1952 - June 30, 2025
Donna M. Fischer, 73, of Millersville, Pennsylvania, died Monday, June 30, 2025, after a long illness. Donna was born on April 29, 1952, in Neptune, New Jersey, the daughter of The Rev. Donald and Mrs. Elizabeth McCabe.
Donna graduated from Millersville University of Pennsylvania with a major in Elementary Education. She taught in the Solanco School District until she retired in 2007. She was a loved and gifted teacher. She met her husband to be, Henry W. Fischer, while a student at Millersville. They married in 1971 and eventually had two wonderful daughters, Jennifer (married to Michael McKenzie) who now lives in Elizabethtown, and Elizabeth (Betsy) who now lives in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Donna loved to spend summertime in Maine as a child and then with her husband and children. She was a voracious reader, having a particular fondness for murder mysteries. She had a great sense of humor. Donna was a wonderful wife and mother. Donna also loved to kayak on Maine lakes and taught her husband how to fish for white perch so they could eat fish chowder together. She also loved hiking trails with her husband in Acadia National Park.
Donna is survived by her husband Henry/Hank, and both daughters Jennifer and Elizabeth/Betsy; sister Kathy McKenzie and step-granddaughter Isabelle McKenzie. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law Mary Kay Fair (wife of Pat Fair), brother-in-law Brad Fischer and nephew Michael Fischer (and his wife Alexandra Slanker).
Donna’s family will celebrate her life at a future time in Maine. Her family will miss her so very much.

Dear Hank, Jenny & Betsy,
We are so very sad and sorry to hear of Donna’s passing! She was such a wonderful 1st grade teacher to our son, Justin. She saw his potential and nurtured him. She helped to inspire both Justin’s and our son, Conan’s, love of dinosaurs. We have so many fond memories of Donna. Our hearts go out to all of you and hope your good memories bring you comfort.
Fondly, Beth and Phil Kinsey
