Donald “Tap” J. Thomas, 81

Donald “Tap” J. Thomas, 81, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Monday, May 26 2014 at the Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy center. Born in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late Edmond Thomas and Virginia Spicer. Tap was the loving husband of Irene (Gant) Thomas.
Tap retired from Kellogg’s Company. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing with horse racing being a favorite entertainment. Tap’s family, especially his grandchildren, was important to him.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Irene, are 5 children: Anita Thomas, Donna Thomas, Brent Thomas, husband of Daisy, Tirzah Ortiz, wife of Robert, and Yvette Bates, wife of Darryl, all of Lancaster; a step-son, Kevin Thomas; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren will miss their Pop-Pop; a brother, Edmond “June” Thomas, husband of Kathy Stewart, of Millersville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Tap was preceded in death by two sisters: Olive Johnson and Annie Christmas; and a granddaughter, Laundrea Thomas.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA 17602. A viewing will be from 9:30-11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tap’s memory to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.

Uncle Donald,I want say deeply going miss u it’s going be hard on me since u gone… Ur my grandmother Annie Christmas brother so tell my grandma I say hi wish I meet her…wish I could see u when I get there to pa assume u don’t have much time…I love u very much..thank unfor ur time talk with us few months ago…I don’t have to say goodbye and just want u know I LOVE YOU…aunt Irene stay strong for ur family…thank you

too my family ” words can not exprees the way i feel right now . donald was so loing too his family” i would see him at the turkey hill store and he would always have me laughin always tellin me how much i look like my mother mary lewis.. then we go get our lottery tickets. i’m going too miss seein my cus” gone but not forgotten in my heart rest well donald.. too stay storng family my prayers are gonig to you all my love diane lewis…
