Condolences to the Family

Trudy, no one during my time on this planet has supported me, been there for me, loved me unconditionally, helped me without expecting anything in return, been a father figure to me, a confidant, a friend and an overall positive influence in my life more than your son. I can’t imagine what my life would be like now had I not had him looking out for me and guiding me for all those years. I’m ashamed I didn’t try harder to show him my appreciation, stay in touch more, tell him I loved him more, or been a fraction of the support that he may have needed as he’d done for me countless times in my darkest hours. I’m forever indebted to him and his kindness will never be forgotten. It was a privilege knowing Donnie; he was my guardian angel for a long time and I feel lucky to have had him in my life. You and the family have my deepest condolences.
Sincerely, Rob Alotta

Deepest sympathy on Don’s passing. Keeping family in my thoughts.
Don was a great guy, a big help to me for all the time he spent with my son Mick to help get him on the straight and narrow road. Will always be thankful.
Sincerely, Stephanie Kane-Bootie (Ted and Dee Kane’s daughter).

I was extremely surprised and sorry to read of the passing of Donnie. I worked with him for many years and he drove Truck 1 for me for a while. Although I have not kept up with him after my retirement, I thought of him often; especially after the Fulton St. fire. I first met Donnie when he skipped school to help his Dad run wire in a house I was building in 1977. He told me he had more fun doing that than at school. I know he is at peace and hope the family is as well. God Bless. Sheldon J. Bergman
