Condolences to the Family

Dear Horst Family,
I retired from Tyco Electronics in Harrisburg in 2008 and occasionally I wonder how my former co-workers and suppliers may be doing. For some unknown reason, this afternoon I just happened to do a computer search  for “Don Horst Pennsylvania” and was very surprised and saddened to see Don’s obituary.
In the 1980s, Don was the Fulton Press sales rep. when I worked for AMP Special Industries / AMP Products Corp. in Valley Forge, PA. He knew printing inside & out and shared his extensive knowledge freely. When I was transferred in 1990 to AMP in Harrisburg he continued to provide great advice and customer service. Likewise, from 1999 through 2008 he was a very valuable printing company resource for Tyco Electronics.
My co-workers and I were always happy when Don dropped by our offices to check on any upcoming projects or to personally deliver finished jobs. He was always professional, honest and reliable — and his upbeat, happy and caring personality brightened our days.
I was lucky to have known Don as a mentor and, more importantly, as a friend!
God bless Don and his family he left behind.
With sincere condolences,
Bill Duffy

They don’t make men like Don anymore. He had faith, integrity and a great sense of humor. A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts, through us, they live on. My condolences.

Susie,
So sad to hear Don passed away.  Was just thinking about the two of you as I drove through Mountville a few days ago.  Such a wonderful person who always had a warm smile and a kind word taken away from us much too soon.  My deepest sympathy to you.  May God bring both you & Anne peace & comfort during this difficult time.

Don and I spent many years together, as he gave me the opportunity to develop my business skillset at Fulton, and always believed in me.  I’m most grateful for my time with him, and our many conversations about business and life. I, like many,  owe much to him and its a little lonlier place in the world without him.
As I’ll be out of town for the service, please know that all of the Lagaza’s are thinking of you, Ann, and all of the family and friends at this challenging time.
“Uncle Don” (what my childred called him), will be sorely missed.

Aunt Sue and Anne, I will always remember uncle Don as a man who loved life and loved people.  He always had a smile, loved to joke around and appreciated spicy foods like I did.  He will be greatly missed by me and many people!  Angela and I will be praying for comfort as you reminisce about his life.
Love,  Carl & Angela

Sue & Anne – I’m so saddened to hear of Don’s passing. I worked with Don when I worked at AMP and he provided printing services to our group. I considered him a friend and could share many a story of practical jokes that he and I played on one another. He provided excellent customer service and achieved excellence in everything he did. I still have a Hard Rock Cafe pin from Cologne, Germany that I’ve been holding onto for our next catch up lunch that just never happened. While we have never met, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. – Wendy (Grove) Faust

Horst family I am saddened to hear of Don’s passing.  He was a truly inspirational figure, as my boss at Fulton Press, in the early days of my career.  He was a mentor and friend always challenging me, all the while keeping the office laughing and sharing from his Disney adventures.  He helped inspire the manager I am today and I couldn’t thank him more.

Sue and Anne,  I am very sorry to hear about Don’s passing.  I valued Don’s great admiration and friendship throughout our years at Fulton Press.  He and I had many wonderful conversations about baseball, football and of course, Disney and Universal.  The times that we spent together at work, playing softball and other activities was a huge highlight for me and I have spent a lot of time thinking about him over the past several years.  Don had a huge heart and would do anything for the people that he touched and will be missed by many.  My thoughts and prayers are for you and your family.

Sue and Anne, so sorry ro hear of the passing of Don.  He was a really special guy who always made those around him feel special.  I cherish all the Disney gifts he had given me over the years.  I’ve been wearing my Mickey Mouse Christmas watch since I heard of his passing.
The world would be a much better place if there were more people like Don Horst.  I will miss you Don.

So sorry to hear of Dons passing. He was a great guy. I got to know him when I worked as a temp at ITP.  My daughter Kim, who was also a temp, enjoyed talking to him about his love of Disney. She is also a Disney fanatic. She loved the way he decorated his office at ITP. He gave her a pin from one of his Disney trips. He talked about retiring and spending more time at Disney. My condolences to you, your daughter and the rest of his family.
