Dolores J. Mimnall, 90

Dolores J. Mimnall, 90, of Millersville, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Maple Farm Nursing Center, Akron. Born in Lancaster, she was one of eight children born to the late Earl E. and Anna Wiegand Simmons. She was the beloved wife of the late James R. Mimnall, and together they celebrated 67 years of marriage before his death in February 2017.

Dolores volunteered her time as a Girl Scout Leader at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and with the Women’s Auxiliary at St. Phillip the Apostle Catholic Church, where she was a member. She devoted much of her time to her family and home, where the door was always open and everyone was welcome. Dolores enjoyed as much time as she could tending to her flower gardens. She worked part time as a floral designer at the former Fries Flower Shop, and for a period of time, she also worked at the Barn Door Restaurant in Millersville as a cook.

Surviving Dolores are her children, Audrey McGuigan, Patricia Rieker (Steve), James Mimnall (Tracey) and Diane Brenner (Greg). Also surviving are her grandchildren, Heather Zerbe (James), Jacqueline Radcliff, Jessica Brenner, Emily Barnhart (Rick), Sara Mimnall (Izzy Acosta), Rachel Mimnall, and Renee Yeater (Arzie); and her great-granchildren, Bryce Helm, Grayson and Dalton Zerbe, Madison, Victoria and Hailey Barnhart, Madelyn Schram and Dakota Yeater.

Dolores was predeceased by her siblings, Paul Simmons, Charles Simmons, Frances Rote, Victoria Strosser, Johanna Stark, Rose Simmons and Dorothy Simmons and by her grandson Keith McGuigan.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Dolores’ memory may be offered to the Arthritis foundation @ arthritis.org.
