Dolores “Dee” K. Stine, 72

June 13, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dolores “Dee” K. Stine, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the Lancaster, PA community. Dee peacefully departed this world on June 13, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and sweet memories.

Born as the only child to Donald E. Strickler and Jayne (Kemmler), Dee’s life began in the heart of Lancaster. Her parents, who grew up on “the Hill” and attended St. Joes, instilled in her a deep sense of faith and community. Dee embraced her Catholic faith and attended Sacred Heart for her grade school education and was a 1970 graduate from LCHS, where she began to form lifelong values and friendships.

In September 2004, Dee married the love of her life, Augustus W. “Gus” Stine. Her biggest wish was to have a rock n roll band on her wedding day. That wish came true as they exchanged vows in their back yard where they stood in front of the garden waterfall. Their union was a testament to enduring love and companionship, filled with shared dreams and adventures. Dee and Gus enjoyed a beautiful life together, marked by their passion for traveling and exploring the world on cruises, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Dee loved to bake, bringing joy and sweetness to countless people. Her creations were not just baked goods but expressions of her love and creativity, making every bite a delightful experience. She was a branch manager for several banks over a period of 20 years. Her most enjoyable moments were spent throwing parties on her deck for family and friends.

Above all, Dee cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted husband Gus and her loving daughters Heather Davis (William) and Rachelle Scott (James). Dee’s greatest joy was being a grandmother, and she leaves behind her adored grandchildren: Phorest, Lameck, Canyon, Autumn, and River Bear. Her family was her pride and joy, and she found immense happiness in their accomplishments and lives. Also surviving are her dear and closest friends Carol Kunkel and Pam Young.

Dee’s presence in our lives was a blessing. Her gentle spirit, warm heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but never forgotten. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the countless hearts she touched.

Family will receive friends at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 441 N George St, Millersville, PA 17551, on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 10am to 11am with a service to begin at 11am. Burial to follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.

Rest in peace, Dee. Your legacy of love and sweetness will continue to inspire us all.

I have so many great memories with Dolores from Sacred Heart and her lovely parents. Dolores was so kind hearted, funny and just a very nice friend. God love her Mother for toting all us girls everywhere in her big boat of a car… such good times together❣️
May Dolores rest in peace as her soul departs earth leaving living memories with her family that will always live on!

Dolores and i were friends in grade school at Sacred Heart and our years at LCHS.  She was always happy and full of energy.  She had the best parties in her basement – we were so young that flirting and slow dancing with boys was all we could talk about for days later.   She was a kind soul and like her mother, was always ready to pitch in and volunteer.  I was lucky to have spent that time with her.

I remember working with Dee at Sovereign Bank in the 90’s. She was a joy to work with and loved talking about her girls. My deepest condolences to the family. She will be missed.

A wonderful person.  Many fond memories of the HS parties at her house and her big blue car that she loved.  My best to her family and keep the love she shared in your hearts.

Uncle Gus my heart is saddened by the loss of your beloved Dee.  Dee had so much knowledge of all the places you traveled and even places she wanted to travel. It was always a good time listening to her talk about your adventures together.  May those memories help you through the days ahead.  She will always be in our hearts.
