Diane L. “Dee” McCloskey, 75
December 14, 2025
Diane L. “Dee” McCloskey, 75, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Nanticoke, PA, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Helen (Sagan) Maylock, and the devoted wife of the late James F. McCloskey, Jr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Dee’s life was defined by compassion, devotion, and an unwavering love for her family. She loved her daughter Michelle and son-in-law Dan with fierce devotion, and her grandson Tyler was the light of her life. Friday nights were especially meaningful, spent with Tyler and Jim, creating simple yet unforgettable moments together. She also treasured the quiet, everyday times with Jim — sharing meals, conversations, and the comfort of each other’s presence. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend — a sweet and gentle soul whose presence was a blessing to all who knew her.
Nursing was Dee’s calling and one of the greatest joys of her life. Beginning her career in 1971, she dedicated more than five decades to caring for others with kindness, empathy, and a healing touch. Her patients and colleagues alike knew her as someone whose heart was as strong as her skill, and whose compassion never wavered. Dee’s legacy as a nurse lives on not only in the countless lives she touched, but also in the example she set of selfless service and genuine care.
Beyond her career, Dee embraced life with warmth and enthusiasm. She found joy in cheering for the Phillies and Steelers, baking and cooking meals that brought loved ones together, and traveling. While she treasured her visits to Hawaii, Myrtle Beach held a special place in her heart as the setting for cherished family vacations filled with laughter and love.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Leber, wife of Dan; grandson, Tyler; sisters-in-law Cathy Gaenzle and Mary Baciotti, wife of Joe; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A Celebration of Dee’s Life will be held at 3 PM, with family and friends gathering from 1:30–3 PM prior to the service, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. All are welcomed to attend to share in the beautiful life of Dee.
