Dawn, Gary, Ezra, Kyle and Andrea…
Deby, she was my best friend in middle/high school. She was the first person to welcome me into my new school at the awkward age of 13. She was unapologetically herself, and carried herself with confidence! Deby was fun, she was funny, she was confident! Deby was a true friend, a confidant, a cheerlearder in life, and she was also a very particular person – she wanted things the way she wanted them and that was that! 🙂 My dad always told me, “in life, you’ll be lucky to have just a few TRUE friends”. Throughout my 52 years of life, I would agree, he is correct. Deby was one of them to me. We experienced so many things together throughout our friendship from cheerleading, track, youth group, mission trip to New Mexico, introducing my boys to Disney World for the first time, and many, many more things! Deby wasn’t the spelling of her name when we met… She and I thought long and hard to come up with cute ways to spell our names and vowed that we would stick to the “new names” – for her we chose “Deby” instead of Debbie, and for myself, we chose “Karyl” instead of Carol – Silly, I know, right?! I will forever cherish all of the memories that we shared together. She was a good person, with a good heart, and a zest for life. We were all lucky to have had her in our lives and to have been in her heart. May each of you be blessed with knowing that she lived her life to the fullest, and touched others in so many special ways in her time on earth. God wanted to hang with her now, she will be happy eternally. Love to each of you, your daughter/sister/mom will live on in a special place in my heart and memory.
