DeForrest “Tink” Brumbaugh, 73

DeForrest “Tink” Brumbaugh, 73, of Luther Acres in Lititz, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 30, 2009. He and his wife, Jean, had formerly resided at 92 Landis Dr. in Lancaster, in a house he had designed and built himself at the age of 22. Tink took great pride in building their house and home.

He and his wife, Jean A. Morgan Brumbaugh, celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary this past August 12th. Born in Cassville, Huntingdon County, Tink was the son of the late Oscar A. and Pearl DeForrest Brumbaugh.

Tink had worked as the manager of manufacturing engineering for HMW Industries at the Hamilton Watch Building for 16 years, until retiring in 1978. He had served as the past president of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).

He was a graduate of the Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute with an associate’s degree, and had attended Franklin and Marshall College.

In addition to engineering and home building, Tink’s interests included World and US history, current world events, and genealogy.  Tink was also a member of Harvest Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Jeffrey Scot married to Melody Brumbaugh of Marietta, GA, and John David Brumbaugh of Lancaster; his grandson James Daniel “JD” Brumbaugh of Marietta, GA; his brother Jay Lee married to Ingeborg Brumbaugh of Chester, VA and his sister, Linda  married to Robert Trout of East Petersburg.

Friends will be received on Monday from 1230-130PM at the Chapel of the Good Samaritan at Luther Acres, 600 E. Main St., Lititz, PA, with the memorial service to follow at 130PM, the Revs. William Massey and E. Walter Cleckley officiating.
