David J. Stauffer, 62

September 30, 2023

David J. Stauffer, 62, of Millersville, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023. He was born in Lancaster, PA, to James W. Stauffer Jr. and the late Ellyn (Doty-Hess) Stauffer.

David proudly served his country as a United States Marine from 1979 to 1981, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal (CPL E3). He was a dedicated veteran who served with honor.

In addition to his military service, David had a passion for landscaping. He found joy in tending to the beauty of nature and creating lush, serene environments.
David is survived by his siblings, brother Gregory J. Stauffer of Otisfield, Maine, and sister Julie E. Swade of Landisville, PA. He shared a special bond with them, and they will carry on his memory with love and fondness.

David was known as a private person, but those who knew him understood his deep sense of commitment and dedication to the things he cherished most.

A Funeral Service to honor David’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 441 N. George Street, Millersville, PA 17551. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Following the service, interment will take place at Salem UCC Hellers Church Cemetery, where David will find his final resting place.

Condolences to the Family

I’m saddened to learn of David’s passing. As said by others…he was a gentle giant and I am blessed for having had the chance to coach him. Good-byes may be the law on Earth, but reunions are the law in Heaven. Instead of good-bye it’s just ‘see you later’. May you find comfort and peace with  memories.
Peace, Coach Hoffman

I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep Dave, you -his family, and friends in my thoughts and prayers. I will always remember Dave as a gentle giant. He was big and strong, stronger than I think he even realized yet had a gentle and kind soul.

Stauffer family, I was shocked and saddened to hear about David’s passing. I remember him in high school as a hard working student and especially a hard working wrestler. He gave 100% each time I sent him out on the mat. Although he didn’t win all of his matches, he NEVER embarrassed himself or his team.  Coach Hibshman

Mr. Stauffer, Greg & Julie,
I was shocked and saddened to see David’s passing. Sending my deepest sympathy to you Dad, Greg and Julie. I have an idea of your loss as my only brother/sibbling passed away in 1998. It was heart breaking. May you remember the good times spent together, those memories of David that will comfort you through your grief in the days, months to come. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and David too. 🌹🌾🍀.
