David H. White, Sr., 85
January 28, 2025
David H. White Sr. 85, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in Lancaster.
Born and raised in Lancaster, PA, David was the son of the late Irene (Henry) and Thomas F. White. He was the beloved husband of Margaret “Peggy” Angelina White, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage.
Dave attended J.P. McCaskey High School before proudly serving in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1964. A skilled mechanic, he was the owner of White’s Exxon Service Station for over 40 years, where he was known for his ability to repair just about anything.
Beyond his work, Dave had a passion for traveling, especially to Maryland for boating and his love of the ocean. A devoted car enthusiast, he found joy in working with his hands but even more in the company of his loved ones. His family was his greatest pride, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Peggy; his children, Wes White of Lancaster and Laura Preiss, wife of Ray, of Manheim; and his cherished granddaughters, Sydney, “Chocolate,” Rose, “Chip,” and Sophie, “Cookie.” He is also survived by his sister, Jane Donahoo, wife of Rev. Jim, of New Albany, PA; his brother, Bill White, husband of Doris, of Millersville; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, David H. White, Jr., and his sister, Jean (White) Moyer.
A Funeral Service to honor Dave’s life will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 10AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at Clearfield United Methodist Cemetery, New Providence, PA.
Dave’s legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion to family will forever be remembered and cherished.
