David D. Hess, 69

August 04, 2025

David D. Hess, 69 years, of Lancaster PA, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous journey with Lewy Body Dementia.

Dave was a loving husband, father and grandfather who generously gave his time and attention to his family. He will be remembered for his love of Jesus, his kindness and sense of humor. Dave enjoyed renewing his spirit by going to the mountains every year with his hunting buddies. He and his wife enjoyed hiking the parks together. He was an enthusiastic gardener and also enjoyed pampering his pets. Dave was a loyal friend and dedicated employee of Turkey Hill Dairy for 27 years. He passed on a love of the outdoors to his children.

Dave is survived by his wife, Amy Hess; children: Sara Hess, Joel Hess, Christopher Fleming, married to Alexandria, and Kerry Le, married to Brian Le; grandchildren: Elijah Hess, Ellianna Hess, Jude Hess, Jovie Hess, Everett Fleming and Lyla Fleming. Dave also leaves behind many cherished extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

We all find comfort knowing we will see Dave again, and that he is whole and new, enjoying God’s presence.

Amy would like to thank the staff at Hamilton Arms for their empathetic, compassionate care of Dave; you know who you are. A special thanks to Dave’s two favorite CNAs, Jamie and Tiffany.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11 AM at Community Fellowship Church, 200 Bethel Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601. The family will receive guests beginning at 10 AM. A luncheon will immediately follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Dave’s name to Lewy Body Dementia Association.
