David C. Harnish, 97
David C. Harnish, 97, formerly of the 300 block of E. Chestnut St., Lancaster, died Friday morning at Brethren Village, where he had resided since 1993.
He was the husband of the late Gloria C. Chillas Harnish, who died in December of 2006. Born in Upper Leacock Twp., David was the son of the late Christian and Elizabeth Rutt Harnish.
David had worked as a Miehlie Vertical Pressman for Lancaster Press Inc. for 53 years, until his retirement in 1980.
A US Navy veteran, he had served during World War II as a Specialist 2nd Class.
David was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, where he had served as the church organist for many years.
He had been a member of the Elks Club of Lancaster, the Malta Lodge, and had been a member of both the Malta Band and the New Holland Victory Band.
He is the last of his immediate family.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Chapel at Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA , with the funeral services to follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
