Dan Bahadur Sunuwar, 57

November 22, 2023

Dan B Sunuwar, born on March 6, 1959, in Kerabari-Harkapur, Okhaldhunga, peacefully departed this life in Lancaster, PA, on November 22, 2023. He was the beloved son of Karna B. Sunuwar and Dil Maya Sunuwar. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dhana Maya Sunuwar, and his six loving children, thirteen grandchildren.

As the middle child among nine older brothers, one younger brother, and two younger sisters, Dan Buwa grew up in a large, close-knit family. In 1988, he moved to Kathmandu, and it was in 1990 he found solace in Jesus Christ and embraced Him as his personal savior, which profoundly shaped Dan Buwa’s life’s principles.

In August 2022, he moved to the US to stay with and support his youngest daughter’s growing young family. Courageously battling liver cancer for approximately 14 months, he passed away surrounded by his family, leaving behind cherished memories and a lasting impact on all who knew him.

He epitomized simplicity, embodying kindness, humility, hard work, and an unwavering love for peace. His perpetual smile and gentle nature never allowed anger to find its place in his interactions with others. He exemplified a selfless spirit, always prioritizing the needs of others above his own.

He found immense joy in the company of his grandchildren, relishing moments spent together and imparting wisdom through their shared experiences. He displayed resourcefulness by collecting and preserving scraps, utilizing his extensive knowledge to mend broken household items, and deriving happiness from life’s simplest pleasures.

Known for his playful banter and light-heartedness, Dan Buwa would often kid with his beloved wife. He found joy in singing the chorus of “Aja Ko Din” and shared his love for music with those around him.

Buwa’s legacy of kindness, resilience, and joy in the simple things will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have been a part of his life.

BNCL family invites all our friends and family, from near and far, to celebrate his life and attend his funeral service on November 25, 2023.
Time: 5 pm | Address: 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584. Pastor Deepak Rai will officiate the funeral service.
