Condolences to the Family

I am saddened by the passing of my dear friend, Dale. Dale and I worked together at Ford tractor for years and after Dale’s retirement, Dale worked for me for a number of years. Dale is one of the finest people that I have encountered in my life. He was honest, hard-working, and kind as well as very knowledgeable when it came to tractors and mechanical equipment. It was a pleasure to know him all the years that we were together. I am sure his family will take great joy reflecting on Dale’s accomplishments during his lifetime. Francis Engelhardt

Job well done Mr. Schairer. One of the stalwarts of the old Derby Street neighborhood. The Schairer’s were a part of what made this such a great place to grow up. Say hi to my customers Fred and Roger Esbenshade over there in Lititz.

Dale was the first person to greet us as we walked into church at Beautiful Savior many years ago.  And I know that when I get to Heaven, he will be leading the heavenly hosts in greeting me again.
I know you will all miss him, as we do in Michigan.  But I pray for comfort for all of you.

Both Dale and I both worked at Ford Tractor and for a while his cubical was only 40 feet away, but we didn’t work together.  When I retired, we were both attending a Tractor breakfast group where we began to know each other. We ended up volunteering at the Troy Musium where we colaborated on many build/fix projects for the musium. Dale always had good ideas and skills on how to made or fix things.  It was a pleasure to volunteer with him.  I have good memories!

I guess it had to come out this way …the way of life, hope and faith.  I realize now that I am  the lead witness to the saga of the Schairer boys.  Treasure his memory the memory of a life long partner of the way life should be lived.  I will send a letter and a memorial gift later.  Jill is her the week.  Good visit.  Take care.  PAUL

I am so very sorry to hear of Uncle Dale’s passing.  My deepest sympathies to you Aunt Janet, Denise, Linda and David.  Although I was never able to spend much time with him, the times that I did are deeply etched in my memories.  I remember most his sense of humor, his knowledge of all things mechanical and the deep connection to my father, (which I treasure).  He has an amazing living legacy in his children and grandchiLdren!   Take care of each other and cherish all the memories.

Dear Janet and Family:
Dale was a treasure and one of the finest gentlemen to ever volunteer at the Troy Historic Village. His knowledge of historical agriculture, farm equipment, and woodworking was so impressive. His humor, kindness, and dependability were endearing. I watched in awe as he taught young kids, chatted with old-timers, and filled my younger staff with his bountiful wisdom. We could always count on Dale to fix whatever was broken with care and a smile. My sincere condolences to Janet, who often arrived at the Village with Dale to help tend our gardens or volunteer at a public event. I know your family’s memories of Dale will last forever. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you now and in the days to come.
Sincerely,
Loraine Campbell
