Cristobal Ortiz Delannoy, 94

Cristóbal Ortiz Delannoy, 94, of Lancaster, PA passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Arroyo, Puerto Rico to the late Gil Ortiz and Rosa Delannoy Santiago. Cristóbal proudly served in the United States Army. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he earned the rank of corporal and received the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and a Combat Infantryman Badge.

Cristóbal enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, and loved listening to Christian worship music. He loved wrist watches and even in his final days, asked his wife to put his wristwatch on him because he loved to wear them. He enjoyed radios of all types, windup music boxes, and loved watching boxing matches.

Cristóbal was a very well-respected man that had a great smile and a heart of gold. He was always excited in seeing friends and family and always greeted everyone with a big hug. He will surely be missed by those who knew him.

Cristóbal is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Elisaida Ortiz and 4 sons from a previous marriage; Eddie Ortiz, husband to Wilma Ortiz, Francisco Ortiz, Samuel Ortiz, and Eduardo Ortiz; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

Friends and are invited to visit with family at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home at 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from 10:00AM until 12:00PM. At 12:00 noon, we will conduct a service then proceed to Conestoga Memorial Park for the burial.
