Craig J. Johnson, 68

Craig J. Johnson, 68, of Strasburg, PA formerly of Mattituck, NY, entered eternal rest on February 3, 2024. Born in Freeport, Long Island, and raised in Baldwin, NY he was the son of the late John A. and Vilma (Coron) Johnson.

For over 40 years Craig was a dedicated Local 25 Union Electrician where he specialized in traffic. Upon retiring he and Loraine moved to Strasburg, PA in 2015.

Craig was an avid gardener and found joy tending to his flowers, vegetables, and fruit trees as well as taking care of his chickens and beekeeping. Craig also took great interest in conservative politics as well as his faith and church.

Craig will be sorely missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Loraine (Uricks) Johnson; their children, Ryan Johnson(48) of Boston, MA, Peter Johnson (46) of Quouge, NY Luke Johnson(44) husband of Rachel Ferretti-Johnson of Mattituck, NY, and Eric Johnson (41) of Ikesburg, PA; and his grandchildren, Nicholas (19), Tyler (15), Hunter (14), Samantha (14), Sadie (12), Hudson (10) and Wesley(8).

A Memorial Service honoring Craig will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Refuge Calvary Chapel New Holland, 33 S. Railroad Ave., New Holland, PA 17557. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the church at the address above.

We were so sad to hear of Craig’s passing. Seems like only  yesterday we moved into our houses next to each other.as young adults.God Bless.

Loraine – I am so saddened for you and your family.  Although I never knew your husband personally – I knew how much he meant to you and your kids and grandkids.  I am praying the Lord comforts you in your time of need.

Loraine and family, all of us here at Bird in Hand were so sad to hear of Craigs passing.  He was a great employee for the short time he was here.  He will be missed greatly. Prayers for peace and comfort for all of you.
