Clarence “Chip” Wise, 81
October 06, 2020
Clarence “Chip” Wise, 81, of Lititz passed away peacefully at home on October 6th, 2020.
Born in Vandergrift, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence G. Wise and Laura (Lukehart) Wise. Chip was the husband of Deborah (Robbins) Wise, whom he married in 1982.
Chip was the Vice President of Schimmel Piano Corporation of Braunschweig, Germany until his retirement. His career fostered his love for travel.
Chip’s passion was researching his family’s genealogy. Through his research he learned that he was the 8th generation Wise in America. The Wise’s arrived in America in 1728 in Pennsylvania. He was able to trace his family another three generations in Europe, visiting many of the sites in his travels. Chip also enjoyed hiking, running, biking and playing the piano. He was a member of the Lititz United Methodist Church.
Most of all, Chip loved spending time with his large family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; David Wise, husband of Cindy, Douglas Wise, husband of Jeanne, James Smith, husband of Molly, Jaclyn Bomberger, wife of Nathaniel, Elisabeth Woznicki, wife of Sean, his beloved 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and his brother Charles Wise, husband of Nancy. He is preceded in death by his son Daniel Paul Wise.
Due to Covid-19, services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Lititz United Methodist Church.

Sorry, I just found out today, a year later. Was trying to find Tel.Nr. and went to
Piano Store on Long Island, New York, where I live. Years ago, I used to escort
the trips for Schimmel Piano Company and got to know Chip and Debbie, Chip
was the perfect Gentleman with knowledge that just amazed me. His fun of life
was contaiges. He was also a great help to me on those tours through Germany.

I’m sorry I never got to meet Chip. I recently read some letters he wrote to people helping them with genealogy. He sounded like a wonderful man. I am a descendant of Solomon Wise and Elizabeth Hildebrand. I think Chip was too. Did Chip publish or donate his Wise genealogy research anywhere?

So sorry to hear of our cousin Chips passing. I haven’t seen him or Charles in years but we were always able to pick up where we left off when we would meet up. Our fathers were brothers and we enjoyed some good times together. I am grateful for all the genealogy work that Chip completed in the Wises. His legacy lives on!

Debbie, so sorry for your loss. Chip was a very good friend, and fellow Sales Manager at Hammond. I had a lot of fun times with him. Even though I hadn’t seen him for years, I thought of him often. Heaven got a good guy! Know he’ll be missed by family and friends.
