Christian T. Widmann, 59

August 22, 1964 - September 09, 2023

Christian T. Widmann, 59, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 9, 2023, with his loving family by his side. He shared 16 years of wonderful marriage with his wife Lori A. Capwell-Widmann.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William Jr. and Alice Sandra (Thompson) Widmann. Chris graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School in Philadelphia, completed his associates at St. Leo University and his bachelors in business administration from the University of Phoenix.

Chris worked for Clario in Philadelphia as the Director of Global Indirect Spend. He was a member of the Procurement Foundry, one of the annual speakers at the ProcureCon Conference and an advisory board member of the conference.

He was known to be always smiling. Chris loved time in Florida, Disney, the Caribbean, and other destinations. He was the best Pop-Pop and loving husband and father. He loved time with his family and grandkids. He previously enjoyed scuba diving. Chris was looking forward to retirement and often joked he wanted to work at Disney’s Grand Floridian delivering guests luggage with a golf cart after retirement to help pass the time.

In addition to wife Lori, Chris is survived by five daughters, Amanda w/o Trever Deeter and their daughter Capri of Levittown, PA, Ashley w/o Billy Peene and their children Greyson and Evelyn of Lancaster, Krista Widmann of Louisville, KY, Brittany, wife of James Martagon of Grand Forks, ND, and Alyssa Musumeci of San Diego, CA.

Chris’s family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm, followed by a celebration of his life at 3 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA 17543. Interment will be private.

Condolences to the Family

Chris was one of a kind. I worked with him at McCormick and we became fast friends. He was happy to share his wealth of knowledge about the industry, processes and best practices . He was even happier to talk about his family, vacations, home projects and all things Florida. He was so proud of the life he built, his girls, his grandkids and the love of his life, Lori. His joy and enthusiasm was contagious. After he left McCormick he kept in touch, just to check in or remind me that having Oreos and Coke was okay. He will be missed by so many.

I had the honor of working closely with Christian over the past few months. Christian taught me so much – not just about work, but he also shared a great deal of wisdom about life. He always said, ‘You’ve got to have fun’ during our meetings. I will remember this forever. My sincere condolences to Christian’s family, whom he always fondly talked about.

Lori,
So very sorry for your loss with this unexpected event.  Chris was a wonderful friend of mine at Clario, and because so, we probably spoke everyday.  He has such great knowledge about his trade, and I was blessed to be in his company when working alongside him.  They say he is in a better place, but certainly not prepared for it this soon. I miss him a lot as do many of his fellow employees at Clario.  Please know you and your family are in our prayers.

I worked with Chris at the Manitowoc Company over several years.  We often exchanged ideas on strategies, process improvements and organizational opportunities within the organization.  Chris always gave of himself and was extremely proud of his family.  I was exchanging notes with him this last week.  Chris with his smile, humor and dedication will be missed.

I worked with Chris at Clario. He was such a fun person which whom to talk. We “geeked out” together talked about epic fantasy stories and really got to bond over the course of the project. His love for his family really shone through, and you could tell how proud of his children he was. He will be missed.

I was able to get to know Chris via work, and he was a great guy. He was funny, insightful, helpful, and always willing to take that extra step to help our teams move forward. He spoke to me a little about life, kids, how he missed Florida at times, and how we both knew retirement was starting the next great adventure in our lives. I wish you, his family, the best, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Thanks for sharing him with us for the time we had.

I worked with Chris at The Manitowoc Company for many years and considered him a dear friend. I am shocked and saddened at his passing 😔 he will always be remembered fondly. A great loss.
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

My heartfelt condolences to your family. I worked with Chris at Clario and he was just a wonderful person – genuine, funny, kind, and so helpful. I know his family was his world – he always talked about visiting his daughters, going to Disney with family and all the fun he had with them. I hope the good memories you have of those times with him will bring you come comfort at this time. I am very saddened by his passing and will really miss him.

I’m so sorry for your loss.
My name is Patrick McIntosh. Chris and I grew up together in Morrell Park. We lost touch over the college years but recently reconnected before he moved back to PA.
I can share so many fun stories growing up. We would air guitar and rock out listening to Kiss records, (at the time we had no clue what some of the songs meant) we played every imaginable street game, we played baseball on the same team, street hockey, football. He was like an Olympic swimmer no one could hold a candle to him. Chris had a passion for life even as a kid.
Please know you all are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you find peace that God has an angel in heaven.
I know Chris will be at peace with his mother and father. God blessing to you all and may God hold you in the palm of his hands during this time.
im sorry I won’t be able to make the service.
Best,Patrick (P Mac)

Christian was such a wonderful human, the world will be a little dimmer without his positivity and smile. He was such a delight to work with, I will miss him greatly

I had the pleasure of working with Chris at Clario. Just last week we celebrated finally publishing this new intranet site for a project he worked on for months. I really enjoyed his upbeat and lighthearted attitude. He was such a joy to talk to and work with. I remember he spoke about having all daughters with such pride (I also come from a family of all girls).  I’m incredibly sorry for your loss and I send my heartfelt condolences.

Honestly, there are very few made like Chris. He became more than just a colleague to me, he was a genuine friend, a mentor and a confident. He never failed to make me laugh and taught me that work really has no point unless you enjoy it. He injected humour wherever he could and always always remembered to ask how you were. On a personal note he never failed to ask me how my son was, learning he was autistic, Chris was very understanding of my life and made sure he checked in with me and held me accountable to taking time out when I needed it. One of Chris’s last messages to me was where he told me ‘I have a lot of faith in you, and you will be a Rockstar, the sky is your reach’… I will make sure I always reflect on this Chris and won’t let you down.
He shared with me on many occasion how proud he was of his family and his daughters. Learning about one being in HR (like me) and doing really well at Mars. He also shared that he was planning a family trip to the UK and I’d spoken at lengths with him on where he should go as I’m based here in England.
life at work just won’t be the same with him not around… a genuinely great person and will be missed.
Wishing the family all my love and will keep you in my prayers.
