Cheryl Ann Burkey, 60

Cheryl Ann Burkey, 60, of Lititz, passed away at home on Monday, March 14, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Gerald J. and Sylvia (Benedick) Sutter.
Cheryl was a hard-working single mother who worked two jobs to provide for her family. She was a Kitchen Aid for Manheim School District and loved her coworkers. She enjoyed NASCAR, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, and loved animals; especially lions, tigers, and bears. She affectionately earned the nickname “Joe Dirt.” Most importantly, she was a loving mother and grandmother, and will be very much missed.
Chery is survived by her children, Jennifer L. Burkey (girlfriend of Bobby Shaver), Kevin L. Burkey (husband of Michelle), Shawn M. Burkey (husband of Meagen); her grandchildren, Natallie Boozer, Halie Burkey, Brittany Burkey, Aubrey Shaver, and Kelsey Shaver; a great-grandchild that will soon enter the world; her sisters, Kathy Sheppard, Neva Lane, and Karen Brazil; and her step-mother, Carol Sutter; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Sutter; and her partner, Bruce Miskar.
A service will be held at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home at 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home one hour prior at 1:00.

I miss you mom its been year an half you been gone it’s been 2 years since your birthday passed and we have always celebrated mom the girls just started school and I miss taking you back and forth to work I wish you were still here with us mom live you miss you love your daughter Jenn please just look down on us and your grandbabies and your great grandbaby I listen to a song about you everyday in the car it’s just hard for me in the house I’ve always see Shadows and thought that you were just right around the corner and I can’t yell mom can you give me a cup of coffee and the girls miss you too I just wish you were still here with us you’re a healthy woman everyday I just sit down and think of you the good old times that we had love you

wow i cant get over its going to be a year now you left us mom i miss you and love you so much its hard to me to do anthing everyday i so heart breaking to see you gone with girls love you and miss you too kelsey and aubrey are doing good kelsey ask me when will you be home i dont know what to tell her that we wont see you no more love you miss you mom i think about you everyday and all the time this is hard to be writing this to you because im crying just thinking about you love you mom miss you

Dear Burkey Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Cheryl was a special person who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. I had the privilege of working with her in food services at Manheim School District. She was such a hard worker and would often talk about her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May God bless you with His peace, strengthen and comfort you in the days ahead.

You will be missed so dearly, we will never forget you and will always hold you in our hearts, you were one of the sweetest souls around .
