Charlotte Elizabeth Horton, 68, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013, at Moravian Manor in Lititz. Born in Waynesburg, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Alice (Krause) Crick. She was the loving wife of Robert N. Horton for 45 years.
Charlotte was a Speech Pathologist, and worked for most of her career at IU13, eventually retiring from Penn Manor. In her free time she enjoyed knitting, doing crafts and gardening. She had a green thumb and was able to grow anything.
In addition to her husband, Robert, Charlotte is survived by two daughters; Laura Hample, wife of Eric, of Lancaster, and Susan Chohany, wife of Tim, of Omaha; several nieces and nephews, and grandson Calvin Chohany.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Charlotte’s memory may be made to the Humane Society of Lebanon County, 129 Cumberland St, Lebanon, PA 17042, or to Operation Scarlett, 520 S. Queen St, Lancaster, PA 17603.

Bob, Susan, Laura and extended family,
We were shocked and deeply saddened at the news of Cricket’s passing. As part of the Greene County cousin team we laughed together through swim lessons, drive-in movies and Mustang adventures. She was a family star with a great sense of humor, the ability to tell a story well, and yes, taller than the rest of us. She is missed.

To the Horton family; I’ve been thinking about Charlotte since hearing of the news Monday. My mother (Betty Lou Venick-Kormendi) and Charlotte were childhood friends from Rices Landing and were in touch for the remainder of their lives. I know my mother so treasured Charlotte’s lifelong friendship, even if through phone calls and letters. I can’t help think they are both together again. My sympathies to her family.

I was a friend of Charlotte from the time we were small. Her family lived in the same complex as my Grandmother, Uncle and Aunt. We had so much fun together as children playing together almost every Sunday when I would come down to visit my Grandmother. She was a loving and giving person. We communicated through e-mail, but never dreamed she was so bad. Never complained.
My condolences to the entire family.

Robert and Family…..my deepest and heartfelt sympathy to your family on Charlotte’s passing. She and I were friends when I lived in Crucible. I would ride to her house on my Brother’s bike to play with her when we were kids and we both attended the same church. We went on to High School in Carmichaels but did not graduate the same year as I was a year ahead. My family moved away from PA but a few years back we reconnected through friends in common and email. She fought a long battle with cancer but never complained of what she was going through. She was just worried about leaving her family. Knowing her faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I know she’s sitting at the feet of Jesus now praising and glorifying Him. I’ll always remember and love her and I pray the Lord will bless you with comfort and strength through this time of sorrow. Joyce (Polander) Hallisey – North Carolina

My thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve the passing of your dear wife, mother and grandmother.
Charlotte was a speech and hearing therapist for me many years ago and I never forgot her!
To Laura and Susan, I still vividly remember some stories she shared about her two little girls some 30 plus years ago!
To Robert, may the precious memories that you have of your wife of 45 years be a comfort to you.
May the Lord comfort you as you travel this pathway. May HE be close to you and carry you in the palm of HIS hand ! Praying for you!
