Charles S. Jackson, 83

Charles S. Jackson, 83, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at Magnolias of Lancaster, Saturday, January 3, 2015. Born in Astoria, NY, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Mary (Cooke) Jackson and was the loving husband of Therese M. (O’Rourke) Jackson for over 63 years.
Charles worked as a maintenance supervisor for Getty Oil until his retirement. He enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and other games, but especially loved playing games and spending time with his grandchildren. For the past two years, Charles lived at Lancashire Terrace where the wonderful staff and residents treated him with love and kindness.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by four children: Charles J. Jackson of Copiague, NY, Philip Jackson, husband of Alyson of Claverack, NY, Gerard Jackson, husband of Loree of Hollywood, FL and Marie, wife of Richard Belgrod of New Holland; his grandchildren Petty Officer Joseph Belgrod, husband of Michelle, Jason and Mariah Belgrod, Daniel and James Jackson, and Carmine Rublowsky; and his step-grandchildren: Bridget Archer and Chelsea Givorneti. Charles was preceded in death by his son, Thomas P. Jackson in 2013.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 955 Robert Fulton Hwy., Quarryville, PA, with Rev. Robert A. Yohe as Celebrant. Viewings will be held 6-9 PM Monday, January 5, 2015 (Tonight), at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA and 10:30-11:30 AM on Tuesday at the church. Interment with Military Honors in St. Catherine Catholic Cemetery. While Masses are preferred, memorial contributions may also be made to Grane Hospice, 3501 Concord Rd., Suite 110, York PA 17402.

So sorry to hear of the departing of Charles. This can be a difficult time for the entire family so please know you are in my thoughts. I hope you find some comfort in the many promises from Jehovah in the scriptures. God provides comfort through his Word, the Bible .
