Catherine L. “Cathy” Smith, 76

Catherine L. “Cathy” Smith, 76, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at her residence.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harold M. and Marcella N. (Fry) Smith.

Known for her quick wit and sense of humor, Cathy filled every room with laughter and joy. She had a love for bowling, crossword puzzles, and word searches. She had a talent for quoting movies and song lyrics. She loved going to the beach and metal detecting. Above all, Cathy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Frank (Lori) and Samuel (Cecelia) Henne; her daughter, Beth (Mike) Weaver; her sisters, Lee Henry, Ellen McGovern, Helen Sharpe, and Mary Weiler; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and twin brother, Warren “Buzz” Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cathy’s name to the Cocalico Valley VFW Post 3376, 141 S State Street, Ephrata, PA 17522.

Cathy’s family is thankful for the care and compassion that her neighbor, Kristen provided over the last several years.
