Ray, Mike, Tony and family, Julie and I are heartbroken to have gotten the news of Cathy passing. While at the "Bernhardt Family Vacation" in Sea Isle City in July, Patsy & Carl told us that she was not doing well. We held out hope and prayed for the best.
Ironically, two weeks ago, after we returned from the first camping trip that I had been on in many, many years, they told us that she was heading to Hospice. Although we were camping in Ohio, it reminded me of all of the times that we camped in NJ and Yogi’s Jellystone Park with the Horvaths & Bernhardts. The smell of campfires burning and the odor of the shower rooms are the same everywhere I guess.
In remembering your mom, I think of her infectious smile and laugh that made every event she was at, better. Julie always says how your mom was ever so gracious when they first met. How Cathy made Julie feel welcome. Cathy immediately made it known that she was my Godmother and that started it all. Or maybe it was the fact that they both immediately fired up a butt helped; but who cares? We both had a great time with her when she was in Cleveland with Ray at the Clinic which is the last time I saw her.
I could mention a number of stories/memories but here are just a few. The first house in Lititz: the kids playing in the basement; the adults playing cards upstairs. Turner, the next door neighbor. Carters’ and Mimnal’s corn roast. The other parties that the adults had and we tried to stay out of their way. Volleyball games and trips to the shore.
We hope all of you can achieve some Peace and get some rest. Always think of the good times that were had.

Dear Ray,
I just found out today about Catherine while shopping at QVC. She was a wonderful, funny lady, who always brighten our day when she came into the store. She will be sorely missed by me and her QVC family. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your boys during this difficult time.
