Carrie Tarbart, 60

Carrie Tarbart, 60, of Lititz, passed away on July 14, 2018 at Hershey Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Baltimore, MD she was the daughter of Anna Louise (Graff) Tarbart and the late Francis Paul Tarbart.
Formerly of Garden Grove, CA, Carrie was a graduate of Pacifica High School Class of 1975 and Long Beach State University, where she received her degree in education. A lover of children, right after she graduated from college Carrie began her career as an elementary school teacher, teaching kindergarten and first grade. She spent over 20 years as an educator at Clinton-Mendenhall Elementary School. Carrie was devoted to her students. She taught in a bilingual class room and took great joy seeing her students learn and grow.
Carrie’s life changed with the arrival of her son Michael Tarbart. Michael was the light of her life. She supported him in everything he did. She was a hockey mom of the Warwick Ice Hockey Club, which Michael played for. She participated in fundraisers and was present at every game. She was incredibly proud of Michael for all of his accomplishments and loves him dearly.
Carrie is survived by her son, Michael Tarbart, her mother, Anna Louise Tarbart, brothers, Jason and David Tarbart, and nephews, Aaron and Cole Tarbart, and many extended family members, all of whom she adored. She is preceded in death by her father, Francis Tarbart.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory located at 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday July 19, 2018 at 12:00PM at St. James Catholic Church located at 505 Woodcrest Ave, Lititz, PA 17543 with Father O’Blaney as Celebrant. Prior to the Mass, guests will be received at the church from 11:00AM – 12:00PM. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Carrie’s name to the American Cancer Society at 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Carrie’s death. She taught both my children and my mom helped her mom take care of Cole. We are left with good memories.

Ms. Tarbart was my 1st grade teacher back in 1991. I learned of her passing searching up my old elementary school. I’m Very sorry to hear of her passing, she was an awesome teacher. My condolences to her family.

Michael and family–we are very saddened to learn of your mom’s passing. I so enjoyed talking to her at all the Warwick hockey practices and games over the past few seasons. She was a very kind lady and made her love for you very obvious! You will all be in our thoughts and prayers.
