Carol M. Gochenauer, 88

Carol M. Gochenauer, 88, of Manheim, died peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Ralph and Marie Catherine Constine Houck. Carol was the loving wife of the late Chester W. Gochnauer Jr. and was also preceded in death by her longtime partner, Allen Yeager. Carol’s passion was caring for others in the career of nursing. Throughout her career she dedicated her time and knowledge to multiple nursing homes and hospitals and retired from Ephrata Manor Nursing Home. She had a love of roller skating, pinochle, and in her spare time could be found with her nose in a book. She also took great pride in being part of the group to get the Manheim Township Ambulance Association started.

Surviving are five daughters, Flo wife of Patrick McDade, Linda Gochenauer, Renna Lutz, Vanessa Gochenauer-Verzulli wife of Thomas Verzulli, Tonya Winebrenner, three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandson, a sister, Sevilla Waltz, and a brother, Richard Houck. Preceding her in death are two son in laws, Lester Winebrenner, Delmar Lutz Jr., two sisters, Lida Greer, Olivia Houck, and a brother, Barry Houck
