Carol A. Honert, 63
Carol A. Honert, 63, of Signal Hill Lane, Lancaster, died Friday at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore after a brief illness.
Born in Davenport, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth J. and Shirley (Goodwin) Mundt, and the step daughter of the late Margaret (Ellis) Mundt. She was the loving wife of Eugene E. Honert and they celebrated 41 wonderful years of marriage on May 28th.
Carol began her early adulthood working as a registered nurse. She later gave up her career to raise her children and manage their home. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit of Lancaster. Carol loved to read, garden and knit. She was a remarkable cook, and an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the Outer Banks of NC.
Carol delighted in her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Kevin, husband of Jennifer, of Lancaster, and Colin, currently living in Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, twins Olivia and Everett, and Cooper; and her sisters, Mary Schneckloth, Cheryl Berg, and Charlene Thode, all living in Iowa, and Christine O’Neil, in Colorado.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2007 at Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3131 Columbia Ave., Lancaster. Friends may be received from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster.
