So very sorry to hear of the passing of your mother.

Just had a brain tumor removed. Would be nice to keep in touch. Even though its been so long Ive thought about you all over the years. Was so shocked about Aunt Carol. My condolences are with you all. Love you. Tina

Thoughts and prayers!  Carol was a very kind lady..

Bethany Hoag class of 2001

She was a great person. I worked at the Mouth my Senior year so I got to know her pretty well and she was such calm and a loving person. She was always a pleasure to talk to and I will always remember her.  She is going to be missed. I am keeping the Arthur family in my prayers. Rest in peace Carol.
Love,
Leah

Carol, you will be missed. You were a good friend, mom away from home, mentor and teacher. You and Jim helped keep us Grier Girls inline when we weren’t under the watchful eyes of the house mothers. You helped instill the work ethic that I still carry with me to this day and I will forever be grateful for your kind heart. Rest In Peace.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Carol was always the sweetest lady I knew. She also always had an ear to listen. She may not be on this earth any longer, but I know she is up in heaven smiling down on us, and forever in our hearts. My prayers are with your family.

The Clauson Family.

Jim, Eric, Keith, and Phillip,

I am so sorry to hear of Carol’s passing, Carol and Jim were always there for us, they are/were our home away from home (the boys didn’t have a choice:-) I learned to cook (kind of) from Carol and definitely fix a mean grilled cheese.

We used to pick her up and carry her around the Mouth (she wasn’t a fan) but I can hear her now with her accent "Now Reeves put me downnn"

She will be missed.

Sincerely,
Reeves Judy (The other Judy twin)

Dear Jim, Eric, Keith and Phillip:

I was so sorry to hear of Carol’s passing.  She was the heart and soul of "The Mouth" and a kind and loving parent figure to so many of us at Grier during our teenage years.  She was our sounding board, our shoulder to cry on, she listened without judging and was honest and straight forward with her responses. She made Grier bearable when we felt it wasn’t.  She meant so much to so many of us and made such a difference each and every day, she touched our lives and will never be forgotten.

Prayers and love to you all,
Christelle Martin (Class of 88)

Carol was like a second mom to all of the girls at Grier! We loved her and she loved us in return. We will miss her dearly. May God bring you peace in this difficult time.

April Morris

To the Arthur Family,

Carol was the best! She always was so calming to me and many others. I could not wait for classes to end at Grier so I could run to the Mouth and get the best cheeseburger around. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

Love,
Stacey Alewine (Grier 1985-87)

I am so sorry to hear about Carol…She was an awesome person..She was a second mom to me when I was at Grier. She always listen and gave me advice.I loved her and never forgot her.She was a blessing to many.My name is Jheimy Pisano

I was deaply saddend to hear of Carols passing. She was our mother at school. Without her a lot of us would have given up. My years at Grier were made better by her. She was always there with a smile or hug and when needed advice. She had a way of grabbing your heart and making you smile. Thank you for sharing her with us!  She will forever be in my heart.

To the Arthur Family,

I am so saddened of the news of Carol’s passing away. I don’t think that there are any words to express the gratitude and love that I feel for this family. While in Boarding school, there were many times of being homesick for my own family so far away but Carol and Jim stepped in and cushioned that void for me. (The boys had no choice Ha!) They included me in their family fold and I love them dearly.
Rest in Peace Carol!

Jim, Eric, Keith, and Phillip,  My prayers are with you all.  Carol was like a mother to me while at Grier.  She always had a smile on her face and made me laugh every day!  She had the biggest heart!  I will always keep her in my thoughts and prayers.  I am thankful she has found Peace.

Love to you all,
Karen Kemper

I went to Grier from ’93 and graduated ’96. Being from Seoul, Korea, it was full of new and Carol was a big part of my best memories. She was always full of life and loved to share. Rest in peace, Carol. You have given so much. Thank you.

Love,
Aerin Kim

Jim,

We are very saddened by your loss, and hope the closeness of family and friends will help you through this time of grief. In the time we knew Carol she was a very likable and sincere person. Carol always made Barb and I feel welcome during our (detecting) visits at your place near Eden Hill. I hope God will shine down on you yours and give you the healing you need. Wishing you the best always.
