To the Silsdorf Family,
My deepest sympathy for the whole family. My prayers are for the whole family. May you find peace in Him.
My first memories of her, was on your trip out to California in the late 60’s.  I even got to go with all of you to Disneyland. What a treat. Then I remember spending time with her when we went to the East Coast in ’77. She was a friend, someone who I could talk with, she . I know we had a family reunion. During that time she called me “Mouse”, I don’t know why but she did.

God Bless – Bruce Reigner and Family.
After years, we found each other on Facebook. We started our conversation, just like we had talked the week before, not years ago. She was a good friend. I will miss her.

 Dear Silsdorf-Jones family,
My heart is heavy…  I am so sorry for your loss.
I met Carla in the sixth grade. Middle school was filled with roller skating at Overlook, trips to Park City Mall, and several overnight retreats at her church with the youth group. In high school we discovered the Sharks! Our favorite local band. We went to outdoor concerts in Lancaster whenever The Sharks were playing. Once old enough to go out to a club, we almost never missed a show in Lancaster. Carla would be on the dance floor most of the night… Going to see the Sharks will not be the same without her.  I will cherish those memories always. (say hi to Sam and Miles… keep dancing in the sky!)
Over the years,  Carla was always excited to tell me at her hair appointments what was new with  Lyssa, Abby and the nieces and nephews…  She was one proud Momma and Aunt!! It was very clear that she loved you all so much.  At our last appointment, she was talking about how this new pump was going to help her feel better.  I was excited for her.  She was feeling good and kept telling me how  happy she was in her life. We had a great visit!
You all will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers and Carla will forever be in my heart.
Love to all,
Kathi Gappa Clark

Carla – We have almost 50 years of memories together. Where do I begin? We were like 2 peas in a pod, both the oldest of 3, only girl with 2 younger brothers, so we became sisters. I remember those little turtles you guys had, the VW bus and your weiner dog Gretchen. I remember the time I thought your mom was being murdered in the living room, but you just informed me she was screaming at the TV because WWF wrestling was on. Your house is also where I learned a wooden spoon is not just for cooking! Around 5th grade  the world stopped. We found out you were moving to Lancaster. In our minds it was like you were moving to another country, not just 15 minutes away. Our moms made sure to get us together over the years. Best times were when we would all meet at Freeze & Frizz and play quicksand monsters on the rocks. After we turned 16 it was up to us to stay connected and we did all these years. We have celebrated weddings, births, divorces, remarriages and death together. I remember the time in Stone Harbor with your family we went on the boardwalk and bought little squirt guns, filled them and then squirted people as we walked behind them on the boardwalk (that was totally Stephanie’s idea). The 4th of Julys in the park and later the 4th pool parties at my house. The tail end of your honeymoon in Inner Harbor after the hurricane hit and everything was flooded and we saw Moses. Last summer our weekly Thursday night get togethers at the Bville on the deck.  Our last night there I thanked you, Michael, Barb and Larry for making our Thursday nights so fun and special and said I couldn’t wait for next summer to do it all over again. Who knew it would be our last. When I talked to you that last Tuesday you said you had a migraine so we’d chat later, I’m still waiting! I know you had one wish that didn’t come true yet, but maybe you have your answer now. Say hi to my Dad, tell him we love and miss him. I am going to end this with something you always said to me when we were going out. ” I’m going to be late, save me a seat “. Well Chickie it will be your turn to return the favor someday. ” I’m going to be up later, so save me a seat (preferably on the beach with an adult beverage waiting). Love always… your sister Monica

Carla was a friend from a long time ago.  We saw each other a couple of times in the last couple of years, once being when I was in the hospital recovering from a miscarriage.  She came into my hospital room and found me in a world of emotional pain, which was multiplied by the fact that the hospital had inadvertantly placed a new mother on the other side of the curtain with her newborn.  Being the ‘take charge’ kind of person she was, Carla immediately saw the circumstances and promptly went to the nurses and made sure I was moved to a different room.  I hadn’t see Carla in quite some time, but recently reconnected with her on Facebook.  I am sorry to have missed the chance to see her again.  To Julia, Scott, and Carla’s girls, may God grant you  peace that she is with her Daddy and Arlan and will see you again someday.  All of my love,  Chris (Yost) Allwein

So Carla and I were in high school and we were supposed to be going to a dance, and we saw a dog on the side of the road.  It was a little older then a puppy but still had that puppy cute face and no one else was around in the neighborhood. So we are all dressed up to impress the boys and ended up chasing this pup around to catch it so it wouldn’t get run over by a car. Finally, we cornered it against a fence and lured it out with McDonalds.  Luckily, the dog had a tag with a name and address so we finally found the house and family it belonged to.  But, our outfits were ruined and muddy and we smelled like wet dog..did I mention it was raining out. Lol, we were so proud of ourselves to have saved this dog.  It lived 2 doors down from where we found it. We felt like heroes and never made it to the dance.
Xoxo,
Bev

I first met Carla at a family reunion at the Moyer Farm in 1969. She and her other little cousins were racing around having fun, and I really couldn’t figure out who was who. Over the years, though, I saw Carla at other reunions when we visited PA and in California on a family vacation. She always seemed happy and chatty and full of enthusiasm. We got to know each other more as adults as the years passed, and then I was watching her girls racing around and having fun at other reunions.  We were FaceBook friends and played several of the same games. At the last family reunion, I finally got to meet Michael, and she seemed really happy. Ivan and I are so sad at her passing, and our thoughts go out to the entire family.  Tyler and Ivan Dotterer

Carla was a beautiful woman with a heart of gold.  Her smile was contagious, always a joy to run into from time to time.  May peace be finally with you my friend.  Love, Tracy Schwartz Desmond MTHS class of 1983

Dear Michael, Julia, Lyssa, Abby, Scott & family,
We are so sorry.  I am so thankful for Carla’s friendship.  She encouraged me to get in marching band my senior year of high school. I am glad she was a part of our wedding.  The night before it she took me to the Village to see the Sharks, I think.  That was fun.  I will remember her teasing Mark, her laugh, her French Toast bake, and her spirit.  May her memory be eternal.
With love and sympathy,
Angela, Mark, Jim and Andy Moshos

Cannot believe you are gone.  We met at Significa, and shared our pet stories.  Fly high Miss Carla, you will be missed.

Although I wasn’t a longtime friend. I met you through Miles Shaeffer while dancing and having many laughs. You had a wonderful spirit and I  have wonderful memories of our dancing times together.   I’m sure you are in heaven dancing with Miles.
