Brooke Johanna Landis, 33

November 19, 2016

Brooke Johanna Landis, of Brownstown, PA, left this earth to be with Jesus on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at the age of 33. We know that she is now safe in the arms of the Lord. Her wings were ready, our hearts were not, but we take comfort in knowing that Brooke is a Christian and we will see her again someday in Heaven. Until then, we will miss her every day, but we know that we now have a beautiful angel watching over us.

Brooke attended Calvary Baptist Christian School, and also Conestoga Valley School District.

In her childhood and teenage years, Brooke helped to care for over 80 foster children. She worked for many years as a caregiver for the elderly and disabled, and most recently was a homemaker at Moravian Manor in Lititz.

Brooke loved Jesus and had a gentle, kind and caring heart. She was a loving and loyal daughter, sister, aunt and friend, and so much more to many others. Brooke always had a kind word for everyone, and always knew how to make you feel good about yourself. She was always there when you were in need of comfort. Everyone who knew Brooke said her smile lit up the room. She was so much fun to be around, and our gatherings of family and friends will not be the same without her there. Brooke had a quick wit, a hilarious sense of humor and a contagious laugh. Brooke touched so many lives during her time here on Earth, and she will be missed by so many people.

Brooke loved all kinds of birds and animals. She especially loved her many “fur” nieces, nephews and siblings. She was a “free spirit” and she loved the stars, nature and flowers, especially daisies. When we think of Brooke, we think of her with a daisy tucked behind her ear. She loved to sing, dance, and be silly. She loved James Dean and Marilyn Monroe, and like them, she left us too soon. Most of all, Brooke loved spending time with her family and friends. Brooke had a special spot in her heart for her nephew Bryce, who lovingly called her Auntie B. Brooke also had numerous other nicknames, including B, Brookie, Brookie-J, Brooker and Brookie-Pooh.

Brooke is survived by her parents, Keith and Rhonda Landis, of Brownstown; two sisters, Rachel Groff, wife of Jason Groff, of Brownstown, and Jessica Landis, fiancé of David Diller of Lancaster; nephew Bryce Mizeras of Lancaster; paternal grandmother, Lillian Landis and maternal grandmother, Emilie DiLissio, both of Souderton; maternal grandfather, Ronald Godshall, and numerous aunts and other extended family members. She is also survived by her best friend of many years, Briana Lively, who is also a part of our family.

A Celebration of Brooke’s Life will be held at Moravian Manor, 300 W. Lemon St, Lititz, PA 17543 on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. There will be a ceremony at 5:30PM, followed by a time of celebration and remembrance of Brooke’s life until 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, our family requests that you make a donation in Brooke’s honor to a charity of your choice, one that you think would make Brooke smile. We thank you in advance for your donation.

My heart breaks for all of you.  Brooke sounds like such a wonderful girl.  I wish I would have had a chance to know her.  I work with Briana and she always spoke so highly of her best friend Brooke.  Although she was not on this earth a lifetime, she sounds like she touched so many lives and brought such joy and happiness everywhere she went.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.–Lisa Sangrey

The music stops, and yet it echos on the sweet refrains. For every joy that passes something beautiful remains And we weep that one so lovely should have a life so brief.May you find peace and joy. Lili Sasu
