Broden Shea “Brodie” Burkhardt, 27
October 04, 2025
Broden Shea “Brodie” Burkhardt, 27, of Millersville, ran lovingly into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, October 4, 2025, his perfectly healed eyes fixed on the radiant image of his Father.
Born with Cerebral Palsy, Brodie faced tremendous challenges from birth, yet his strength and resilience were nothing short of extraordinary. In spite of the pain he endured, he offered constant smiles and kisses. Brodie found happiness in life’s simple joys—being with family, going on walks in his chair, car rides, and cheering at sporting events. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh loudly. His favorite TV show was America’s Funniest Videos. More than anything, Brodie loved music. From the very first note of a song, or strum of a guitar, he would “sing” with all his heart, lighting up the room with his joy! He especially loved worship music and seemed to understand how much Jesus loved him.
Brodie lived his last 5 years at the Margaret E. Moul Home in York where he received so much loving care. It was truly a home where all were treated as family. He received excellent nursing care, therapies, social activities, and much more.
Many valuable lessons were shared through Brodie’s short life – how to be happy with so little, how to live in the moment, and best of all – a smile comes (Brodie was blind and never saw one) across our faces when we feel warm, fed, and loved.
He is survived by his parents, Joel and Debbie Burkhardt; his maternal grandparents, Jeff and Jean Elser; his brother, Tanner (Brittany) Burkhardt; and his nephews, Tristan and Ryker Burkhardt.
Funeral Services for Brodie will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, beginning at 10:30AM at Millersville Community Church, 163 W Frederick St., Millersville, PA 17551. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Brodie’s name to the Margaret E. Moul Home at: Donate – Margaret E. Moul.

Joel & Debbie- John, myself and the Gamber family extend our deepest sympathies to you and your family. Brodie was such a joy and sweet soul! We were blessed to know him. I remember Henry the cat sitting on his wheelchair tray and making friends immediately with Brodie. Brodie was so full of life and now is fully restored. Prayers and hugs to you both. With Love- John and Joleen
