Boonmee Kheuangthirath, 83
November 10, 2025
The Kheuangthirath Family said farewell to their greatest teacher on Monday, November 10, 2025. Mr. Boonmee Kheuangthirath ”Pa” passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Boonmee (our father, grandfather, and great grandfather) enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and entertaining friends. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Boonmee’s life began in Laos, Southeast Asia but his path drastically changed when the country fell to communist rule. He had no choice but to move the family to Thailand in hopes of a better life. After spending a couple of years in Thailand the family was able to immigrate to the U.S. through a sponsorship program with White Oak Church of the Brethren. Since December 1979 the family has made Manheim, PA their home and their community.
While living in Laos, he served as an educator, principal, and superintendent of the region’s school system. Moving to a new country with a different language and culture, it was difficult to transfer that knowledge and success into a career in his new home. His focus became the education of his sons, and later his grandchildren, and the impact he could have on his community. His teachings continued to resonate through the lives he has touched.
On the weekend of September 20, he suffered a heart attack and faced the difficult road ahead with courage and determination. Though weakened, he fought tirelessly to regain strength, striving to show his doctors he was ready to leave the ICU and return home. Each day was a testament to his resilience and will to live. Ultimately, the lasting effects of the heart attack proved too great, and with grace, he chose to leave this world and reunite with his beloved wife, Sana, who preceded him in death on November 13, 2021.
Boonmee is survived by his loving extended family located across the world. He is survived by their two sons; Savath, Boonta (Dione Hosler), 7 grandchildren; Ashley (Mike Schwebel), Kristen (David Canales), Sariena (Ronnie Reighard), Brandon, Samina, Ellis, Rowan, and 8 great grandchildren; Cayden, Hannah, Quinn, Isaac, Lili, Xander, Alanna, and Crue.
His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he encountered. Come and share your memories with the family on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home located in Lititz/Neffsville. Address is 3110 Lititz Pike Lititz, PA 17543. Viewing will be held from 2–3pm followed by a Buddhist ceremony from 3–4pm.
