Betty Jo Zipp

Betty Jo Zipp 78 of Bainbridge, PA died peacefully at home following an illness. She was the wife of Peter E. Zipp, Jr. and they just celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary on April 19^th. Born in Dover, PA she was the daughter of the late Raymond G. and the late Emmaline (Conrad) Lehigh.

Betty Jo worked as a manager in specialized departments within several stores in the area. She most recently owned and operated her own child care business.

She was a member of the Church of the Brethren. Betty Jo enjoyed art, gardening, crocheting, and reading. She was an accomplished cook and always was ready to try new things in her kitchen. She loved collecting bells and angels of all kinds.

Surviving besides her husband Peter are two children, Ronald M. Martin of Syracuse, NY and Shirley A. Yoder wife of Robert J. of Lancaster, PA. Five Grandchildren, Scott, Christina, Jennifer, Michele, and Max. Three Great Grandchildren, Matthew, Caitlin, and David. Betty Jo has four sisters and one brother, Joanne Hinkle, wife of Jake of Clay, Anna Smeltz wife of Glenn of Holtwood, Linda Soutner wife of George of Hummelstown, Gloria J. Jordacca wife of David of Steelton, Gary Lehigh of Palmyra. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:30pm from the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 414 E. King St. Lancaster, PA. The viewing will be held at the funeral home from 6pm-7:30pm.
