Beth Ann Leensvaart, 69

November 17, 2017

Beth Ann Leensvaart, nee Brink, age 69, the beloved wife of Charles Dale Leensvaart went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Landis Homes Retirement Community.
She was the loving mother of 3 children, Amy (Benjamin) Scott, Stephen (Laurie) Leensvaart and Paul (Steffanie) Leensvaart, and cherished grandmother of 6 – Conner, Landon and Peter Scott, Nathan Leensvaart, and Elsa Beth and Rowan Leensvaart. She was most happy spending quality time with her beloved grandchildren.
Beth was preceded in death by her father, Robert Brink and mother, Eleanor (Bloem) Brink Kooy and stepfather, Richard Kooy. She was a sister to Keith (Joanne) Brink, stepsister to Doris (Paul) Boer, Jennifer (Timothy) Zoeterman, Richard J. (Karen) Kooy and the late Jo Ann Kreps.
Beth was born in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Chicago Christian High School in 1966 and recently reconnected with her classmates at their 50th class reunion.
Beth retired from Landis Valley Museum after 20 years as Administrative Assistant for the Heirloom Seed Project and the Historic Farm Project. She contributed many additional volunteer hours assisting with special events including preparing horses for local parades and riding in wagons in period costume.
Beth was a Co-founder and Charter Member of Son Light Bible Church, served as an Elder, helped coordinate Vacation Bible School and other children’s ministries, led the Knit Wits sewing group and served in other various roles in the church.
Over the years, Beth and her family opened their home to foster more than a dozen infants through Bethany Christian Services. Adoption was very important to Mom as she and her brother Keith were both adopted.
The family will receive guests on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 6-8PM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A service celebrating the life of Beth will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11AM at Son Light Bible Church, 2503 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, with Pastor Michael Nolt officiating. Guests will again be received at the church on Saturday from 10AM until the time of service. Interment will follow the service at the Long Memorial United Methodist Church cemetery located at 2660 Lititz Pike.

Condolences to the Family

Chuck & Family ….
We only recently heard of your loss, and wish to extend our most sincere condolences to all of you.  We remember Beth as a warm, caring person devoted to her family and extending herself to see to and care for infants in distress.  The world is considerably less blessed with her gone.  We’ll remember her in our prayers.

I worked with Chuck while we were both with The Hartford.  I recently saw a former Hartford coworker who informed me of Beth’s passing.  My sincere condolences to Chuck and the family.

Dear Chuck and family, We are so sorry for your loss.  Beth was always smiling, caring and a special friend.  My parents, Madeleine and Bob Berlinger, worked with her at Landis Valley in the Heirloom Seed Project, as did I. Madeleine and Bobby are welcoming her in heaven and, together with the other HSP volunteers there, will be gardening and making heaven even more beautiful. She was delightful to know.  We will miss her and pray that healing and peace come to your family.  Susan and Richard Henry

Chuck, Paul, Steve, Amy and family,
I was planning on coming to Beths service tonight but I left work early with a sick migraine.  Beth and Chuck are special people to me.  I will miss Beth very much.  I had a great visit with her in the hospital.  Was able to tell her I loved her and she told me.  We had a great time enjoying pizza nights, NASCAR parties and learning to knit and crochet.  They were a great support to me during the most difficult times.  Praying for all of at this time of great loss.

To Chuck and the beloved family of Beth Leensvaart,
I had the pleasure of working with Beth for at least 10 years at Landis Valley Museum.  I always found her to be friendly, helpful and so considerate and kind to others.  One of my favorite memories is at Christmas time when she took the time to create a special gift for all of us.  There was nothing she wouldn’t do for another person.  Please accept my sincere sympathy to all of  you on the loss of such a dear person.  My prayers are with you all at this sad time.  May God’s peace give you comfort.
