Benjamin R. Iannone, 83
Benjamin R. Iannone, 83, of Lancaster died Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Essa Flory Hospice Center. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late George and Mary Clerico Iannone. Ben was married 60 years to Mary Voci Iannone.
He worked for Armstrong Research Laboratory in the store room for 37 ½ years and retired in 1990.
Ben served in the US Army during World War II.
He was a musician / composer and played the accordion and keyboards with various bands in Lancaster County and surrounding area. He enjoyed all types of music especially, classical and jazz. He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians.
He liked sports especially the Philadelphia Eagles and enjoyed playing golf.
He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
Surviving besides his wife, there are two children; Benjamin R. Jr. ( Ric ) husband of Connie Iannone, Lancaster, Adrianne wife of Rick Harnish, Lancaster, four grandchildren: Randy, Todd, Jim, Jennifer Harnish, four great grandchildren: Dylan, Kayleigh, Anthony, and Isabella, two sisters: Julia Grossman, Lancaster and Teresa wife of Harvey Bilger, Mechanicsburg.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, N. Duke and Liberty Streets, Lancaster, PA on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 11:00AM with Rev. Norman Hohenwater as Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA, There will be a viewing at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 on Tuesday from 9:00- 10:15 AM.
