Arthur N. Moshos, 82

Arthur N. Moshos, 82, died on Friday October 27th  at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness. Arthur resided at 210 N. President Ave. Lancaster and formerly of 1962 Rachael Dr. Art was married to Helen (Gregory) Moshos and they would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on November 13th 2006. Born in Lebanon Pa he was the son of the late Nicholas and Katina Kitsis Moshos.

Art was a 1941 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School.  A 1946 graduate of Franklin and Marshall College, majoring in Pre-Med.  He attended  one year at Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia.

Arthur retired in 1987 from the food service department at Millersville University  where he was the food purchaser at Gordinier Dining Hall for 17 years.  Prior to this he worked at RCA as a supervisor for 9 years.  He also was formerly employed with Schick Incorporated.  In 1949, Art was the former owner of the Rainbow Restaurant in Lancaster, PA which he operated for several years.

Arthur was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where he truly loved being a member.  He was past president of the parish council, past chairman of the Annual Church Bazaar and was the food and supply purchaser for many years even up until this year.  He was a member of the church choir and was a member of the 50+ club at the church.  Art designed much of the church furniture at Annunciation church.  He was the first male member in the nation of the Philoptochos society.  He was past president of the Red Rose Ahepa #71 of Lancaster where he was also on their bowling team.  Art was a member and treasurer of the Park City Twalkers.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, enjoyed teaching all his grandchildren to fish and doing home projects with his family and friends.  Arthur was a veteran of WWII and served in the US Army as a Medical Technician PFC.  Art volunteered at the food bank for the Lancaster County Council of Churches and also for the American Cancer Society on Daffodil Days.

Surviving besides his wife are five children; Nicholas A. married to Melannie B. Moshos of Lancaster; Virginia M. married to Thomas C. Lausch of Lancaster; Gregory A. married to Cynthia R. Moshos of Glenmoore; Patricia E. married to John D. Baldwin of Springfield; Arthur N. Moshos Jr. married to Sharon L. of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; Matthew, Alex, Christina, Michael, Brittney, Kristin, Courtney, Daniel and Brenden; one brother; James N. married to Thalia H. Moshos.  He was preceded in death by one brother, George N. Moshos.

Funeral service will be held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 64 Hershey Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603 on Monday at 10:30am.  A viewing will be held at the church Sunday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.  The Trisagion service will be held Sunday evening at 7:00pm.  Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park.  Please omit flowers memorial contributions in Arthur’s memory may be sent to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
