August 08, 2025
Arthur Nelson Lenhart passed away in the morning of August 8, 2025 at his home in Lancaster, PA. He is survived by his wife Linda Lenhart and children Greg Lenhart (Cathy) of Lititz, PA, Tammy Lenhart (Sam) Rumfola, Timothy Lenhart all of Lancaster, grandchildren Alexis Lenhart, Nickolas and Andrew Long and a twin sister Arlean Lenhart (Norman) Childs of Paragould, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Velma (Luzier) Lenhart and by 12 other siblings.
Born at home in Egypt, Bradford Township, Clearfield County, PA, his family moved to Guys Mills, PA after his father’s death. He was there until his graduation in 1961 from Randolph East Mead High School. While there, he met Linda in 9th grade. He began preaching the Gospel at 12 years old and was engaged in ministry for the next 50 years. He attended Gannon University for three years in Pre-Med. He and Linda were married on November 27, 1965 in Guys Mills, PA. Arthur graduated with a degree in English/Speech Communications from the University of South Florida in 1970 and was a minister for the Palm Harbor Church of Christ.
In 1971, Arthur established the West Side Church of Christ which currently meets at 219 Merrill St. Clearfield, PA. He ministered there, to the community and surrounding areas until 1987 when he went to Penn State University to work on his Masters Degree in Training & Development. He was also a substitute teacher for the Clearfield and Curwensville Area School Districts.
They eventually settled in Lancaster; PA. Arthur worked for Auntie Anne’s pretzels as a trainer in the corporate office and served the Amish community as a representative for University of Maryland. He was a member of the GracePointe Church of Christ in Elizabethtown, PA.
Along with enjoying his family, associating with other people and friends, he had a great appreciation for literature, music, nature, architecture, foods, history and culture. His grandchildren were a highlight of his joy.
Arthur was a deeply faithful man and follower of God. He sought out knowledge and wisdom his whole life. His ministry focused on spreading God’s love, joy, peace, forgiveness and fortitude. He served his community and its families to help cope with difficult times and to celebrate happy times. He was loved deeply by his family and will be missed by those whose lives he impacted. His passion for helping others, for loving his family, for seeking God’s will was his life’s legacy. We hope and pray that it lives on with those whose lives were changed by his presence. He is greatly missed and mourned by his family.
Services will be held at the Spacht-Snyder, Funeral Home 127 S. Broad Street, Lititz, PA at 3PM on Friday August 15, 2025 with Pastor Stevan Sheets, officiating. Family and friends will be received from 2PM until the time of service.
