Arthur Moore, 68
Arthur Moore, 68, of Lancaster City, known as Daddy or Doc went home to meet with his Lord and Savior on July 20, 2011 at LGH. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Bertha Taylor and Oscar Moore.
Mr. Moore is survived by his loving wife Bessie Dates-Moore. They were married on May 25, 1996.
Mr. Moore retired as a Supervisor with Bethel Steel Mill, Coatesville.
He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Conestoga Lodge of Elks I.B.P.O.W. #140, he enjoyed football, baseball, singing, card playing, and visiting the casino.
Surviving; two sons, Darryl Gaffney, Joey Taylor, both of Coastesville, daughter, Donna Moore, of Detroit, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, three step children, and brother, Donald (Turk) Williams. Preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Jackson, Anna Williams, Oceola Williams, Barbara Jackson, Louise Williams, brother, James Williams.
Mr. Moore’s Home Going Services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Ebenezer Baptist Church 148 Locust St. Lancaster, PA 17602 at 11am officiated by his nephew, the Rev. James Williams. Viewings will be held on Wed. 7-9pm at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory 414 E. King St. Lancaster, PA and Thurs. at the church from 10-11am.
