Arthur J. “Art” Lambert, 92

Arthur J. “Art” Lambert, 92, of Lancaster, passed away on August 19, 2011 at LGH. He was born in Terra Alta, West Virginia to the late Alario and Lula (Grimes) Lamberto.

Art was preceded in death by his wife Mary T. (Eck) Lambert in 2001.

He served his country in WWII with US Navy.

He was a former member of St. Joseph and St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Churches.

Art owned and operated Park’s menswear clothier formerly located on 49 N. Queen St. Lancaster City. The store closed in 1994. He also had his real estate license and was a realtor part time.

He graduated from Salem College and Fairmont College.

Art enjoyed working on his gardens and flower arranging, listening to music, and was an avid Penn State football Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Surviving are three children, James L. Matheny, husband of Judith, of Pittsburgh, Nancy J. Morrell, of Lancaster Bradley N. Lambert, husband of Anna, of Tucson, AZ, daughter, eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, two sisters, Francis Raschella and Mary Stone of West Virgina.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 11am at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory 441 N. George St. Millersville, PA 17551.  A viewing from 10-11am at Snyder’s in Millersville. Interment will be in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard and the Veteran Salute 21 Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made in Art’s memory to St. Anne’s Retirement Community 3952 Columbia Ave. Lancaster, PA 17603 or to the American Heart Association 610 Community Way Lancaster, PA 17603.
