Arthur George Kolgen Jr., 82

Arthur George Kolgen Jr. passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024, at UPMC hospital in Lititz, PA. Born on November 4, 1941, to Arthur and Marguerite Kolgen, he grew up in New York City. He worked for Goldman Sachs for over 20 years. He served as a beacon of hope to his family and others with impressive inner faith and resolve to overcome challenges. He was always optimistic and made others smile.
Arthur enjoyed distance running, pole vaulting, surfing and riflery. He proudly served in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was an aviation mechanic and was an expert rifleman winning several medals. He enjoyed reading, documentaries, auto mechanics, and family travel. He was a devout Catholic and volunteered time at a local ministry with his wife, Pilar. Arthur was a true family man, adored his wife and daughter. He loved nothing more than spending time with his daughter and being there for her, who was his true advocate throughout his health journey as he battled Parkinsonism and other ailments. In addition to his wife, Pilar, Arthur is survived by his daughter, Maria, his brother, Gustav Kolgen, niece, Deborah Kolgen and nephew, Scott Kolgen along with his beloved cats.
A Memorial Mass will take place at St. James Church in Lititz, PA and private interment will take place at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, dates to be determined.

Dear María. Arthur was a kind, bright and generous soul. We were lucky to get the chance to meet him, and to share some time with him. He is now in peace and in a better place, and he leaves strong memories.
